Currently, I am the Lead World Builder on an unannounced Gearbox project.

My role is to oversee the Mission Design, Level Design, and Level Art departments. I help facilitate communication to make sure each department is aware of, and working towards, the Creative Director’s vision and shared deadlines. Additionally, I help draw together ideas from the designers from each department- along with the narrative department- to create lore and reinforce story lines, character development, and world building throughout the game.


Mission Designer
2019 – FPS Looter Shooter, UE4 Engine

Missions: 
Hammerlocked – Team up with Wainwright Jakobs and the B Team on Eden 6 to rescue Sir Hammerlock
Angels & Speed Demons – Help Tannis recover some tech from a secret research lab
Life of the Party – Celebrate at a birthday party held for Mordecai’s protégé
Childhood’s End – Explore some of Angel’s childhood memories to help research her powers
+ Additional support on several other missions

Responsibilities:
Work with Narrative to identify plot needs, and turn those into interactive experiences for players. Plan stories from initial ideas, whiteboard, and scripting stages, and work with level design to plan spaces to support puzzles, combat, and storytelling. Missions requires excellent communication and document management skills to make sure all departments that touch missions- systems, audio, level art, content art, vfx, etc – are able to clearly understand the mission’s intent.


Level Designer
2016 – Hybrid Action Shooter, UE3 Engine

Maps & Missions: 
Oscar Mike versus the Battle School – campaign level and mission design; help Oscar Mike reunite with other Mikes, while playing through different challenge arenas
Permafrost – Supercharge ( 3v3 PvP map)
+ Additional support with bug fixing and performance

Responsibilities:
Blockout game spaces to support combat and story. Iterate based on playtesting and feedback to support PvP balance. First pass level art in maps to help provide visual direction and intent. With campaign, work with narrative to identify and refine story points and dialog
